Crucible

Crucible

mystical+spiritual+encounter

20th November

6.30 p.m.

Crucible is  a meeting of spiritual seekers.

It is about the spiritual journey and aims to to help us get in touch with the Divine to seek to find out more and help us grow.

Each Crucible follows a similar rhythm, the first part is a spiritual exploration using ancient and modern spiritual tools, such as meditation, reflection, imagery or labyrinths. It is open to people of goodwill from any spiritual path.

The second part, for those who wish to remain, is conversation and discussion over spiritual things. Whilst the first part is guided and planned, the second part is unplanned (other than the coffee!) and goes where the conversation takes it

Here's the small print:

It is not for those who feel they have arrived or think they know the answers.

It is for those who are seeking the truth+the spiritual+the divine

It is a journey together to seek out and find the Divine using old and new spiritual pathways.

Crucible is about spiritual exploration. It doesn’t expect conformity of understanding, it doesn’t push a particular theology or cosmology.

It's for people who genuinely seek to encounter the spiritual.

It is listening to other’s views and not trying to get others to agree but hearing their knowledge, wisdom and understanding and considering that viewpoint.

Crucible is Christ-centred, By Christ-centred we mean that we believe in the divinity and teachings of Jesus. Not to the exclusion of all other great teachers (that wouldn’t be Christ-like) but from an understanding of:

The reality of the spiritual

The value of each human being

The value of creation and our world

The principles of goodness, love and grace.

This means treating with respect the wisdom, both ancient and modern, of those who genuinely seek the spiritual ‘otherness’, whatever they may name it. We believe that seeking truth is more important than defending institution and tradition.
